A TEACHING ARTIST VISIT
New York City Opera offers assistance with a culminating activity with a Teaching Artist Visit to each school as part of the school's participation in Opera Is Elementary. These activities allow the students to integrate the “opera experience” into their own creative lives and give them genuine ownership of the material. The culminating activities can take a number of forms ranging from displays of student art to full productions, depending upon your time and resources. Several suggestions for culminating activities follow. Remember that it is the creative/learning process involved in these activities, and not the final product that is the most important.
