Cinderella

How to Integrate Opera into Your Classroom Curriculum

Are you apprehensive, possibly thinking, "I'm not too comfortable working with opera on my own. How can I engage students in a meaningful way about the art form while also tending to other academic subjects?"

Enclosed are several imaginative lesson plans from teachers who have done just that. We hope you will adapt and expand on them in many creative ways. They are just a template or stepping stone for your class' adventures.

We are extremely grateful to all the participating teachers and enrichment specialists who gave of their time and expertise in creating and implementing these plans. These individuals continue to be the backbone of the Opera is Elementary program and an inspiration to improve and refine our arts-in-education programs.
