Cinderella

As part of New York City Opera’s Opera is Elementary program, over 4,500 elementary school students will study Cinderella Stories, a medley of three different operas about Cinderella written by composers Rossini, Massenet, as well as Rodgers and Hammerstein, united in an abridged, fully-produced opera performance in May of 2008 at Aaron Davis Hall. Supported by intensive teacher training and in-school workshops, the Opera is Elementary program introduces children to the world of opera through an array of engaging, age appropriate works. City Opera is providing a rare opportunity for young students to experience opera in performance, workshop and classroom settings, making connections with their own lives and academic work.
